Helena Torres Purroy

Dr. Helena Torres-Purroy is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Philology and Communication at the University of Lleida (Catalonia, Spain). She is a member of the Cercle de Lingüística Aplicada research group, where she conducts research in language ideologies, intergenerational transmission of minoritized languages, minority language revitalization and language policy and planning. Since 2021, Dr. Torres-Purroy has focused on the study and promotion of Aranese Occitan. She is a member of the Advisory Board of Aranese (Conselh Consultatiu der Aranés), which advises the government of Val d’Aran (Conselh Generau d’Aran) in linguistic matters. She is also involved in the development of language technologies in Aranese. Dr. Torres-Purroy is a member of the editorial board of Revista de Llengua i Dret (Journal of Language and Law) and the coordinator of the blog of this journal (https://eapc-rld.blog.gencat.cat).
